![]() as a "scene light" was added above the rear loading door on top of the Burgundy paint. it was painted a solid Burgundy (maroon) color and turned into an ambulance. It came from factory in 1958 as Baltic Blue. it has been painted many times by the various owners. ![]() The photo in Tom McPherson's Miller Meteor book shows what appears to be several single-color cars that could be Baltic Blue! Regardless of who first owned this car. of Chicago who took delivery of 26 Miller-Meteor cars on July 6. It may have been one of the 3 Futura Limousine Duplex combination cars sold to Chateau Auto Livery & Leasing Co. We welcome any information from anyone who knows its early history. Whether this Combination car was EVER used as a hearse is not known. The car was retired in the late 70s or early 80s and used as a mascot and for novelty races etc. and Rob and his daughter drove it back to Boise where it was sold to the Meridian Speedway and used as an auto race track ambulance for about 10 years. Kansas where he picked up his new ambulance. the owner of that funeral home purchased a new Collins "van" ambulance from Rob and used this 1958 Cadillac as a "trade-in. and was the "back-up" unit to a nicer ambulance owned by a funeral home in Milwaukee or St. this 1958 "combination" was always used as an ambulance. the former Collins Ambulance dealer in Boise. 00 cars built on Cadillac's exclusive "commercial chassis" which was only used for ambulances. It is 1958 body #318 and was originally "Baltic Blue" in color. This rare Professional Car was built on February 12. Right rear quarter panel needs repaired, as does right front fender. Two flat-glass side windows need replaced. All but 2 door/window handles need to be installed. Rear vinyl needs replaced, and attendant seats need re-upholstered and installed. Missing: front cab headliner, side mirrors, headlight frames, front side & hood ornaments, crest & bezel, rear fin letters, center portion of rear bumper, 2 chrome side "spears," 3 M-M emblems, pull-tops for door locks. Numerous interior/exterior trim needs to re-installed. Roof needs painted, as does other parts of the car. I took the car back in February, got it running again, cleaned it up and have decided to sell it. During that time, parts were lost or stolen and the vehicle was damaged. There is a brand-new windshield, still in it's shipping crate, that will go with the car.Seller's notes: "Vehicle spent the last 11 years at various shops and was undergoing total restoration. All the curved rear glass, almost impossible to source, is present, and in good condition. That car was engine-less and incomplete, and it's a less desirable model. Restore this car as a hearse, use it for funeral work or as a limo for the prom. If this car doesn't turn every head at your local vintage car cruise, you need to find a new cruise. If you are looking for a hearse, the 1959 Miller+Meteor Futura is at the top of your list. Some cars have been called the Holy Grail of hearses. This is to allow any serious buyers the time for you to do your due diligence, get all your questions answered, investigate transportation costs, arrange financing, convince your wife you really need this car.
